Cultural Strategy and Engagement
Understanding the role of culture is key to successful placemaking. Culture helps to define the character of a place, anchor the spaces and buildings that we use every day, and nurture resilient communities.
Our work looks to harness the cultural energy of people and places to provide distinctiveness, meaning and identity. We focus on culture as a tool for local engagement with projects that range from the design, curation and management of events and festivals to exhibitions, walks, and talks.
We work with local authorities to develop cultural strategies that inform and guide wider development plans, help to attract funding and inward investment and ensure that existing communities and assets are valued and not left behind.
We also partner with schools, galleries and community groups to help integrate cultural thinking into their activities and involve everyone in an inclusive design process.
