Our proposal reimagines this prominent building as a vibrant new heart for Folkestone—a bustling community and commercial hub, and a vital public space. We see it as Folkestone’s new piazza, alive with activity and energy.
This transformative approach reinvents the identity of a beloved local landmark, creating a hybrid, multi-functional space where civic, commercial, and cultural activities converge. At ground level, we envision a dynamic public square, while the rooftop bar and restaurant celebrate Folkestone’s stunning views, making this a destination by day and night.
The project showcases how existing buildings can be rejuvenated through environmentally and socially responsible design. It’s a blueprint for high street revival, blending historic preservation with contemporary needs.
Each element of the space—from the civic offerings to commercial outlets—is brought to life with bold, colourful designs and eye-catching signage, creating a market of ideas, exchange, and action. This vibrant palette reflects our commitment to architecture that sparks joy and engagement.
